Which Attachment Type are you?

Secure relationships with the help of attachment theory - take the attachment style test (in german) to better understand yourself and your relationships!

The Attachment Style Test

You've probably come to this page via social media, so I'm going to address you using the informal "du" form. I politely ask everyone who would like to be addressed formally to simply replace this form of address with "Sie" in their mind.

Below you will find 40 questions that are quick to answer because you only have to determine whether the statement is true or not. At the end you will receive an evaluation and you will see which primary attachment type you most likely are. I deliberately say “most likely” because it depends on your answers. Please answer the questions according to how things really are. Not how you would like them to be! You will also see how many of your answers fall into which category. You will notice that you have not clicked according to just one attachment type. In fact, all four attachment types are probably represented and that is normal. We humans are complex. We have all kinds of parts within us. But the fact is that we usually have a primary attachment style.

What this means: let's assume that you are primarily an anxious attachment type. You tend to cling, you constantly have the relationship on your mind and do everything you can to ensure that your better half doesn't leave you. However, it may still be the case that you display avoidant behavior if you end up with a partner who is also anxious. Or you are an avoidant and with another avoidant you are completely caught up in the fear of loss because the other person avoids even more than you. But these are more fear-based behaviors that were triggered by the other person and reveal sides that are there but usually lie dormant in the background. So it is always exciting to find out about all attachment types and to take note of your own "ah, that's me". What is important is which behaviors and feelings you can most often identify in yourself and whether you want to change something about them or not.

And now I hope you have lots of fun and gain lots of great insights with the attachment type test! As soon as you've finished the test, download the free ebook "Understanding your attachment style" and learn more about the four attachment types.
