CouplesTherapy
Weekend
Intensive time for your relationship
✓ Three days just for you and your relationship
✓ For relationship crises and time constraints
✓ No distractions, no obligations
✓ Get away from your usual surroundings

Why a whole weekend of couples therapy?
A weekend offers the ideal setting to focus on your relationship without the stress of everyday life. You can devote yourself entirely to your partnership, without appointments, children, work, or distractions. Within three days (from Friday to Sunday), you can delve deeply into your issues, understand entrenched patterns, and develop new approaches. These compact days enable you to achieve in a short time what would otherwise take weeks or months—couples therapy in a concentrated form.
As I know you are pressed for time, you are welcome to choose the location and days flexibly:
-
Extended weekend at Salzburg Castle in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, near Würzburg.
-
Three days of your choice during the week at the castle.
-
Or alternatively at my practice in Berlin-Mitte.
You decide which of the locations and days suit you best.
Who is the couples therapy weekend suitable for?
These three intensive days of couples therapy are aimed at couples who are really in a tight spot:
If it's really urgent and you need instant help, you should book a Power Day. The content is different to that of a regular couples therapy, plus but you get the concentrated knowledge you need all at once and can determine the pace of implementation yourselves.
For couples who want to progress quickly
-
Couples who are in an acute relationship crisis,
-
Couples who are looking for a fresh start after a breach of trust or an affair,
-
Couples who are unsure whether they want to stay together or separate,
-
or who simply want to focus on addressing and resolving their issues.
Both know that change must happen NOW and not sometime in the future, because otherwise things will really explode. Maybe this explosion is necessary, and letting go is the right way forward. We will find the right direction. If it is clear that something has to change now, then the couples therapy weekend is the right decision.
Focus areas of the couples therapy weekend
Every couple is different, but typical issues addressed during such an intensive weekend for your relationship include:
-
Serious communication problems and constant misunderstandings
-
Hurt feelings and breaches of trust (e.g., affairs)
-
Emotional alienation, lack of closeness or intimacy
-
Recurring conflicts or power struggles
-
Commitment issues: the couple's dynamic is completely stuck
-
Decision-making: separation or a new beginning
We begin the day by evaluating your situation - what is your issue, what is your dynamic, what is this really about, and most importantly, what is your goal? What needs to happen for this day to be successful for you?
High above Bad Neustadt an der Saale, near Würzburg, towers the medieval Salzburg Castle—a powerful place full of history and tranquility. An 11th-century castle, still privately inhabited today by the von und zu Guttenberg family, I also spend a lot of time there as the partner of the lord of the castle. Part of the castle, a rather magnificent part at that, is rented out as a vacation apartment, wedding venue, and seminar location.
You will stay and we will work in this fairytale atmosphere. There is plenty of space here for clarity, closeness, and change. Three things that are really important for both of you right now. This extraordinary environment will support you in the therapeutic process.
Schedule for the couples therapy weekend
Day 1
• Arrival from 12 noon: You move into your spacious, approx. 200 sqm accommodation directly in the castle – short distances, plenty of privacy, exclusively for you.
• Start at 1:30 p.m.: Intensive work on your topics. Today, we will take a close look at your current situation. A 30-page questionnaire, which you will have received in advance, provides the basis for this. A short break in the romantic castle café (included) provides a little light relief in between.
• Afternoon session: Around 4 p.m., we continue the sessions – depending on the weather, indoors, in the rose garden, or in a quiet place in the castle. Depending on your needs, sometimes in pairs instead of threes. I will give you a task for the next day, which you can then complete at your own pace. The goal of the day is to gain a better understanding of why you are where you are now and to gain a better understanding of each other.
• From 7 p.m., it's time for dinner for two – either in the castle tavern opposite or in the surrounding area. Of course, you can also clear your head first – there's plenty of nature to enjoy!
Day 2
• Start at 10 a.m.: During a walk around the castle, we will review yesterday's events. It is interesting to see what happens during the sessions, but also afterwards! Then we will continue working individually or together – whichever suits you best. Today is about your ideas for the future of your relationship. About needs, desires, but also no-gos and triggers. The first barrel has overflowed, so together we will design a second, better barrel.
• Lunch: You can take a short trip into town or cook a delicious pasta meal together in the kitchen of the vacation apartment (ingredients included).
• Afternoon session until around 4 p.m.: The goal of the day is to put your wishes, values, and ideas into a form that satisfies both of you. Or to realize that it's not possible. Fair enough.
• Dinner: The castle is located in the middle of Germany. Maybe you'd like to take a little trip now, or maybe you'd like to have some time to yourselves. That's a good idea, too!
• Afternoon session until around 4 p.m.: The goal for the day is for you to
Day 3
• Start at 10 a.m.: The last day has dawned. Today, I would like to talk to everyone individually once again so that we can plan together how to put yesterday's plans into action.
• Lunch: On Sundays, the Burgschänke is already open at noon. If the third day is a different day, the kitchen of the vacation apartment is once again the place of choice.
• Afternoon session until around 4 p.m.: The goal of the day is for you to leave with a clear roadmap and concrete tools for your relationship.
• Departure: You will drive home feeling refreshed and energized.

What Therapeutic Approaches Do We Use?
What are the benefits of a couples therapy weekend?
A couples therapy weekend offers you the opportunity to rediscover your relationship.
In a safe environment, there is space for honest conversations, understanding, and closeness. After three intensive days, you will take away:
-
a deeper understanding of each other,
-
Greater emotional closeness and clarity
-
New communication strategies
-
Tools for everyday life
-
a joint decision on the way forward
-
and the feeling of finally reconnecting as a couple
Sometimes the weekend leads to a conscious decision to embark on a new path together—sometimes to a respectful separation. In both cases, clarity and relief emerge.
